Her Majesty, The Queen laid the first wreath at Cenotaph in Whitehall, London and led Britain's mourning of its war dead, in yesterday's service.

In glorious Autumn sunshine, Queen Elizabeth II was joined by Members of the Royal Family, David Cameron, military cheifs, servicemen and women and thousands of spectators. As the first stroke of 11 sounded from Big Ben, the nation observed a two-minute silence.

Prince William, The Duke of Cambridge- wore his RAF uniform and watched by his wife, The Duchess of Cambridge- followed his grandmother by laying the second wreath. Other Members of the Royal Family and several politicians also laid wreaths.

Thousands of people around the country also so paid their respects. Along those were Twitter users, who showed their respect in the moment of reflection with the hashtag #2minutessilence.
